Owner of a STOP-tagged laptop reported to STOP that his backpack, which contained the laptop, was stolen. Two days later, a Good Samaritan called STOP's 24/7 Recovery Hotline to verify if a laptop he had just purchased from someone “on the street” was free & clear or stolen. STOP confirmed that the laptop had been reported stolen and connected the Good Samaritan with the registered owner. Recovery is underway!

FedEx provided the STOP ID number that appears on the Security Plate and STOP quickly identified the registered owner, a large corporate enterprise. A Good Samaritan called STOP’s 24/7 Recovery Hotline to report that she found a STOP-tagged laptop among items she had just purchased at an abandoned-storage-unit auction. The STOP ID Number showed this device registered to a private school located close to the storage facility in Romulus, Michigan. STOP notified the registered owner and the recovery process is underway.
