STOP notified the registered owner, and they are in the process of recovering the laptop from the Good Samaritan.

Caller provided the STOP ID Number that is printed on the security plate, enabling STOP to quickly identify the registered owner, a large medical system. STOP notified the administrator, who contacted the end user who lost the device. End user confirmed that his carry bag fell off the back of his pickup truck as he drove away. End user is recovering his laptop.

Dallas Police called in to report a found notebook computer on a residents property. Police picked up the computer and saw it had a STOP security plate attached. We identified it as being owned by a large and long-standing customer of STOP. We called the customer and provided details and the employee whose notebook was found was identified quickly reunited with his computer. The notebook had been delivered to the employee and was dropped off and left at the wrong address.
