STOP received a call on its 24/7 Recovery Hotline from an American Airlines agent reporting that a STOP-tagged laptop was left on a plane that terminated in Los Angeles International Airport. The AA agent provided the STOP ID Number, which enabled STOP to quickly identify the registered owner, a large law firm. STOP notified the support team at the registered owner. They reached out to the end user who forgot the laptop on the plane, and recovery process is underway.

Campus theft is a problem in schools nationwide. Electronic devices such as laptop computers, MP3 players and other portable devices are popular targets for theft, according to CSUN’s Department of Police Services.
